In his works, Siza considers the location or shape of the building&#8217;s openings in relation to the needs of the space, an idea that stems from Frank Lloyd Wright&#8217;s reflection on the beauty of a windowless building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This way of understanding light in its entire spectrum, as if it were just another material or construction element, is extrapolated by Siza to the small scale with the Fil lamp, presenting a simple design that focuses on the function for which it was designed: to illuminate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1043\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mobles114.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/alvaro-siza-vieira-photo-sld00.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34670\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mobles114.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/alvaro-siza-vieira-photo-sld00.jpg 1043w, https:\/\/www.mobles114.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/alvaro-siza-vieira-photo-sld00-768x339.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1043px) 100vw, 1043px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This is how the architect presents a stainless steel functional table lamp featuring a minimal structure, stripped of any ornaments and inspired by the evolution of the old metal lamps that included a shade to avoid glare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Composed of the essential elements that make up an electric lamp (a support, the electric cable with the bulb at its tip and a shade), Siza signs this radically honest design that is part of Mobles114&#8217;s catalog of classics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1720\" height=\"1156\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mobles114.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/fil_loca2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34764\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mobles114.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/fil_loca2-1.jpg 1720w, https:\/\/www.mobles114.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/fil_loca2-1-768x516.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mobles114.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/fil_loca2-1-1536x1032.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1720px) 100vw, 1720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Some years later, in 2017, architect Eduardo Souto de Moura would recall, as if it were a chapter from Tanizaki&#8217;s <em>In Praise of Shadows<\/em>, how the lamp evoked his earliest memories in relation to light: &#8220;Before there was electricity, in my grandparents&#8217; house there were oil lamps whose flame was protected from the front by a rectangular plate. The result was an indirect light reflected on the wall, a fact that has always pleased the architect \u00c1lvaro Siza.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\"><em>Antes de haver luz el\u00e9ctrica, havia em casa dos meus av\u00f3s umas lamparinas que funcionavam com azeite, e cuja chama era protegida frontalmente por uma placa rect\u00e2ngular. O resultado era uma luz indirecta reflectida na parede, facto que agradou desde sempre ao Arq\u00ba \u00c1lvaro Siza.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\"><em>Siza, parte sempre para um desenho novo a partir de algo anterior, pr\u00e9-existente, adequando-o \u00e0 circunst\u00e2ncia actual, com materiais, sistemas construtivos e linguagens diferentes.
